Fretted clavichord after "German Anonymous, 1700 ca." The clavichord, considered by many musicians to be a valid support for keyboard technique, is an instrument of incomparable sensibility. It was very popular in Germany where it was still used beyond the end of 18th century. The instrument shown here has 22 pairs of strings fretted from Bb. I also build a pair-fretted clavichord after “C. G.
