Compared to its dimensions, the voice of this instrument is loud and clear, like that of a larger harpsichord. It is divided in three parts that are hinged together and can be folded one on the other. When folded, the instrument looks like a box, 23 centimetres wide, and it weights about ten Kilos (approx. 22 lbs). The action is light and easy, outer key length and octave span are average.
This harpsichord is particularly suited for basso continuo use and, of course, for Italian music, but it is often used for solo repertoire as well. Of course, it does not replace a large concert harpsichord but it resolves many carrying problems; its convenience makes it well suited for professional use.
